Give the Gift of Your Time
2 Comments
I agree that giving of yourself and of your time is a meaningful experience. But I get on my soapbox and remind others that these volunteer experiences are not a one or two times a year experience, in my opinion. Use the holiday season to 'get your feet wet' in some volunteer activity and then work to find windows of time in your weekly schedule to continue to be of assistance to some agency or organization. Before long you will discover that it becomes a part of your life. You will benefit by helping others and touching lives and the people you touch will never forget you. Congrats, Brenda and Frank and the world of volunteers, for your dedication. You all are shining stars for many others to use as models. I was quite proud of my teenage daughter the other day. She came home from school and asked if we had plans next Sunday because she had volunteered to be a 'Bell Ringer' for the Salvation Army. She inspired me to volunteer, as well. What are you doing this season to make a difference?
